The water valve is quite a costly item if it fails. They can break for several reasons, but fortunately there are two problems that do not mean the whole valve has to be replaced.
THE WATER DIVERTER:The diverter core is the inner mechanism of the dial assembly that allows you to choose which outlet the water goes (hand shower, monsoon, foot massager etc).
These Cores can be replaced with some basic tools.
These Diverter cores are suitable for the valve assemblies with a 38mm diameter and either 3, 4 or 6 outlets (hand shower, monsoon, foot massager, body jets, bath filler etc).
To remove/fit a diverter core, you will need to remove the chrome dial knob and faceplate. This should expose the valve head and present you with two small holes on opposite sides of the spindle. There is no special tool to do the next part, so you will need to use perhaps some point nose pliers (90 degree ones are ideal). Using the two holes rotate the end of the assemble anticlockwise until it come off. Now grip the brass spindle shaft and wiggle until free. Replace and reverse this process!
